Many years ago my father worked with Ray Fell (and his father) at a factory in Norwich. He says that Ray was always a joker even then and, of course, Ray went on to become professional star with Lulu & Mike Yarwood in Three Of A Kind on BBC2 in 1967. Earlier on he was a compere on one of The Beatles UK tours. I think Ray was one of The Comedians and he is on the Frankie Howerd Please Yourselves LP that the BBC has just reissued on CD - indeed buying this is what prompted this query.
Does anyone know what became of him? My father is 84 now so I doubt Ray is still in the business.

Indeed. I used to watch Three Of A Kind back in 1967. All wiped now though. I gather the other two stars of the show went on to a few other things afterwards..!

IMDb (not always accurate I know) lists his last acting appiontment being in 1989, which might suggest he retired about that time.
There are other online name checks for him, but they don't say any more than has already been said here.

He co-presented the Christmas day edition of Thank Your Lucky Stars in 65.
I can't picture him at the mo. Did he continue to appear on variety shows in the 70's? If so, I must have seen him.

Im a friend of Rays daughters and Ray Fell Is very well and has just recently returned to his home in Chester from Vagas where hes been busy working for the past 25years. Hes had a fabulous career in L/V working with Tom Jones, Julio Inglasias, Endelbert, Paula Abdul and lots more too numerous to say. Hes still up for work with a fab act and fine vocals.. Thanks Does Ray have any memories of being a guest host of Thank Your Lucky Stars? |

Glad to hear that Ray Fell is alive and well. If he worked in Vegas for the last 25 years then no wonder he dropped out of view here.

I have just watched an old episode of The Comedians with Ray in it and one comedian said "Weve just watched the grand opening of Ray Fells wallet!"

hi everyone just to let you all know ray fell is my grandad i have just googled him and came accross this site and thought id let you all know hes doing really well he is over visiting us at the moment and ive literally been with him about an hour ago any messages you would like me to pass on?

Ask your Grandad if he kept any of his old television appearances on film or video? I believe he was on 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium' a few times. One of those was the 9th October 1966. Officially missing but im sure its knocking around in the US somewhere.

He used to pop up in things all the time in the 60s him and Ted Rogers i looked on IMDB it says he was in Who Do You Do in 1976 i didnt know he did impersonations and forgot Mike Yarwood was in Three Of A Kind
