Yes, please do!
I've been away for the last few days, so I've only just caught up with this. As noted above, off-air copies of the three episodes do exist (albeit two are in very poor shape), but if these are broadcast-format then Henson should be interested.

I called the Paley Center today. The person who picked up said that the library was closed and to call back tomorrow.
Her general information was that they dont own originals. They borrow films/videos make copies and return them. They make two copies one for each location. The copies are on tapes. (I believe they are beta from when I was there years ago.)
They are in the process of digitizing their contents which is about 10%. Because they dont own the rights, they dont make copies for anyone. I asked if the original copywrite owner asked for the location of the prints, there response was they would probablly not say.

I'd have been astounded if they had the original broadcast tapes of a show that was made in the UK!
If they do genuinely have these three episodes, then it would be useful to know not only the tape-format they're held on, but also whether they're the original PAL or just NTSC conversions.

Actually I found 6 listed on their web site...
FRAGLE ROCK: THE BEAST OF BLUE ROCK {EPISODE #24} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) FRAGGLE ROCK: MOKEY'S FUNERAL {EPISODE #23} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) FRAGGLE ROCK: GOBO'S DISCOVERY {EPISODE #22} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) (May 30, 1983) FRAGLE ROCK: THE GARDEN PLOT {EPISODE #20} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) () FRAGLE ROCK: SIR HUBRIS AND THE GORGS {EPISODE #33} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) () FRAGLE ROCK: TRASH HEAP DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE {EPISODE #27} {BRITISH VERSION} (TV) ()
If they have them, based on my conversation is that they're ntsc betamax tapes.
I will try to reach the librarian to confirm.

If they're NTSC then they're of no real interest, as the show was made in PAL and all six episodes still exist in this format.

Updating my original post.
The librarian in NY only takes calls between 5-5:30 Wed-Fri.
Unfortunately I missed the time to call today. They told me that the LA branch librarian takes calls at other times so I called him. He was trying but didnt know a lot. He said most of the knowledge is in the NY office and he gave me a name/number. What it looks like is that in their off site library they have a 3/4 inch copy. (what format it is or if its the bbc version I dont know.)
He also talked about a cbc version. is this the same as the hbo/usa?
Someone at the front desk said some things are pal some are ntsc. As I call, ill share more. but a start of a phone relationship has been born.
I also asked him about the dr who war machines and he said it implied that its 3/4 inch tape also. His system didnt show pal or ntsc.
Will continue to follow up.

Have a looky at Wikipedia: The CBC version is the North American version (also shown in the US, Oz, NZ, and dubbed for elsewhere), the UK version segments were filmed by TVS (Henson's usual UK partner at the time), and shown on ITV. (The BBC had nowt to do with it.) By the way, there were also French & German versions - wonder if they exist?

George,I've been trying for days to think of how to say "thank you" for doing this.I'm pretty sure the best way is:
Thanks for doing this George!
Luckily, with your most recent post,I don't have to find a way of minimising disappointment over a certain place not having originals, not sharing information about locations, and expecting everyone to be able to get to N.. Y... Without freaking him/her out,I know you'll try to stress how much this means to people in the UK.Much as I hate the over use of the word, television is part of our culture. And here's another job for you, should you accept it! It seems that as far back as 2009 people at Rhoobarb knew that Paley hold color copies of two episodes of 'The Edwardians',the ones called 'Conan Doyle' and 'The Reluctant Juggler' (none of the other issued-in-b&w-on-DVD episodes were shown over there, though they may have been sent on spec.).I'd really like to know what format those are. I get the strong impression that someone at Paley is nicely Anglophile. All those Dennis Potters and Pythons. The had a seminar, with Waris Hussein and lots of other guests on 'The Origins of Doctor Who'.If we could find out who those enthusiasts are it could be mighty helpful. Here's me being a back-seat driver, again. Thanks for actually doing something.

jgreen,
I should be thanking you for all you've done. The little bit Im doing is minimal compared to the hours you put in.
So far, this is what i believe of their system which is subject to change. They have their two "open to the public" sites where people can watch the various episodes like a library. They also have a closed storage site with their 3/4 inch tapes. These are made from borrowing original films/videos and returning them.
If you wish to put together a list of things to check when I call, Ill do my best to add them to the list.
I do understand the importance and will do my small part to help.

Thanks for the link! I wasn't aware of that, although I knew about the clips on YT.

What I find far more interesting is the fact that Henson have put up clips from three supposedly lost episodes up on YouTube. To my eyes, they appear to be sourced from pristine 1" videotapes.
