The Good Life - missing footage?

A video recently posted to YouTube claims that The Good Life episode "Wind - Break War" had 38 secs edited out about 20 years ago, and the full ep hasn't been seen since.

This video compares two off-air VHS recordings. It's difficult to see why this cut was made to this scene. I don't have the DVD release to compare. Can anyone shed any light on this? And is the full ep really missing?

The 'missing' 38 seconds are present on the Acorn DVD's, I've just checked.

The episode was probably just trimmed to fit a 30 minute slot. The DVD version runs to 31'59".
