I have 3 scripts which came from my grandads house when he died. The first is a rehearsal script from "too quiet for sunday" part 1 only. The other two are from episode "I dont want evidence" part 1 and 2. they are in an envelope addressed to W Prendergast Esq who at the time lived in Liverpool 6. can anybody tell me more about him as i would like to know if my grandad who was a "Bobby" at the time had any input in the show. i would have asked him but i wasnt aware he had these until after he died. many thanks phil

Seeing a documentary on Z Cars recently, I understand the police were advisors on the show, so is it possible he was part of an advisory team who looked over scripts?

William Prendergast was a high-ranking Liverpool detective until the late 1950s and had written his (slightly fictionalised) memoirs in a series of books upon his retirement. He was one of the advisors for "Z Cars", which also used some of the stories from the books as the basis for TV episodes.
The three scripts you have date from the "revival" of the show in 1967 after a break. It's possible that Prendergast was a friend of your Grandfather as he had kept close links with the force after his retirement.
