I missed the show - it's amazing how much TV I DON'T watch - such is poverty and a hectic life....but anyway....
the 'Regional' presenters of Nationwide were all very interesting; memory serves, outside of the 'London' area presenters included Mike Neville in Newcastle (Roger Mellie was allegedly based on him....Mellie's middle name is Neville....), Hugh Scully in Plymouth, Stuart Hall in Manchester amongst others.
A few things I recall....bear in mind that I was at Junior School until 1981....the Ski Sunday theme tune was chosen by a panel for a competition (Pop Goes Bach); Pigeonhole presented by Richard Stilgoe; the vote for the most boring town in Britain - Grantham won, Hayling Island was second....
I do have a report on the Sex Pistols from the late Seventies, but this is after the full archiving policy.
Incidentally, Nationwide did visit my school in the late 70's. One still clip was shown (three seconds on air) - and they were there half a day!

I was suprised the documentary left out the Tony Wilkinson's reports when he spent a week as a homeless person. That was pretty controversial at the time. I actually think he got beat up one night.
