Hello Again, Have been researching various TV related items, and related film and TV archival databases available. And located through the CBC Archives search function a media video clip of a CBC broadcast program. This program consisted primarily of the BBC welcoming the CBC to the world of television. The clip displays some very interesting studio footage as well as behind the scenes shots, very neat. There is even a Sylvia Peters piece of footage wishing Canada the best of Luck. ( Broadcast Date: Sept. 15, 1952 ) archives.cbc.ca/arts_entertainment/media/clips/11236/Any comments, info, thoughts, etc please feel free to post on. Cheers,Lance.

That's a great clip. Thanks. I loved the behind the scenes footage, though it does seem a miracle any one tuned in again after Sir George Barnes and Sir Alexander Cadogan droning on at them. What Barnes had to say was actually quite interesting and he was of course a hugely important figure in television history so it's nice to see some footage of him. Sylvia Peters was as usual, lovely and faintly hilarious at the same time and Don Hollenbeck seemed a very engaging broadcaster. On a similar note, I just watched this about the opening of the BBC transmitter at Sutton Coldfield in 1949. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ioEcpJSaWww
