Now, here's a funny thing. I could have sworn there was a dormant thread on here about NF Simpson's long lost 1969 BBC2 comedy World in Ferment, but I failed to find it via a forum search. Perhaps greater minds will have more success. Anyway, here's the announcement for the Christmas Special of Kettering magazine. The WIF article is something I researched which, if you're interested, is based on a full check of surviving materials at Caversham. A full sketch is reprinted and there are new contributions from the late producer Ned Sherrin, director Roger Ordish as well as Simpson himself. ------ The Kettering 2008 Christmas Special is out, and we've got MORECAMBE AND WISE - Those BBC Christmas specials BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH - Kenny Everett's cinematic oddity WORLD IN FERMENT - NF Simpsons' news satire reviewed KEEP SUNDAY SPECIAL - Sunday comedy on ITV THE 12 LAUGHS OF CHRISTMAS - Our writers pick their favourite seasonal comedy bits THE OXBRIDGE KIDS - The adventure continues PLUS - Jack Thackray, Mario Fabrizi, Humphrey Lyttleton, Alf Garnett and more! All this for only £3 plus post and packing (50p UK, £1.00 overseas) As per usual, get yourself over to www.bodnotbod.org.uk/kettering if you fancy some.
