With that way Bob had of sometimes holding his hand across his chest while he spoke, I recall my mum saying: "Oh, he's always got indigestion!".
We all thought (including my mum) that he was great, though!
Colin.

Time variations wouldn't be significant unless they tipped him off to something which would be later played in another region, or he didn't have enough recorders--which I doubt. I imagine the country was wired up (with coaxial cable?) by 1960, does anyone have a source on this?
In The Making of Space: 1999, Tim Heald interviewed a boy who lived on the border of two ITV regions and got to watch it twice a week!
Content is the name of the game. In Australia we have "networks" which cover vast distances, usually with different owners in other markets. I can scarcely imagine the fun of having different stations under the umbrella of commercial television.

There's an article in BBC news today about this. Full article here: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7774828.stm Was wondering if anyone knows anything about possible Who news here? (I believe it's mostly but not exclusively comedy). Quote: "Initially we found half a dozen TV shows that we knew to be 'missing'." And it says: As for Monkhouse's material, the BFI and television-archiving association Kaleidoscope continue to sift through thousands of tapes and could yet discover some hidden gems. "I hope there may be a couple of 'lost' Sunday Nights at the London Palladium in there," says Mr Fiddy. It's brilliant what's resurfaced from Bob's home collection. As well as recording material that has now been recovered, I agree that Bob was also a genius. Like Kenny Everett, a very quickfire humourist. Having seen a black and white 1970 edition of The Golden Shot, I can see why he was a very popular presenter. I saw that he had several cartoons on the show which he designed. He was also famous for Bob's Full House, Celebrity Squares, and much more. Fingers crossed that recordings surface of Bob's earlier career with Denis Goodwin.

Thought id bump this old thread up again seeing as now some missing Hancock has been found in his archive. Can somebody put up here what has been recovered upto now from his collection? Also ive mentioned this before, any chance of a tv documentary being made about his legacy. Surely with the latest discovery this becomes more and more likely!?

There will be an announcement in due course in October as per our previous lists. At the moment we are still cataloging and transferring.
Once finished the Monkhouse estate will give us permission to publish.

Although it would more than likely only be an audio recording if it did exist (no home video machines in '58 for Bob to tape it); possibly also he may have just kept the comedy / Hope segments - if anything - anyway. Unlikely that he somehow had a film print of the whole show but you never know...
