I know that the only surviving footage from the series is an incomplete episode – oddly missing the middle portion as I recall – but is there anything else known about the show? Facts seem thin on the ground and publicity material even thinner – just the one snap of Troughton in costume holding up a bow.
I’ve long wondered what the show was like and how it was received by viewers. Also, has the footage been returned to the BBC? Wasn’t it turned up by a retired broadcast engineer?

Troughton reminisces about this series in some interviews that come as extras with one of the DVDs. It might be the three doctors, it might not, cannae remember. Its a pebble mill interview *I think*.....

Doesn't the surviving footage feature an forest backdrop being projected upside down or something similar?

He definitely mentions that in the interview, but I havent seen the surviving clip. Hadnt heard about it to be honest. I think it would be a pretty good candidate for a DVD extra, its not like it will get a stand alone release.
