Dear all
The BP Goes Gold day is a very relaxed and informal setting. Free tickets are still available until the 24th, but VIP tickets finish tomorrow.
We are using the David Lean Room at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, and that room has a private bar area to relax in as you wish.
The event begins at 12pm and the bar will be open from 11.30am.
Our M.C. for the day is David ‘Diddy’ Hamilton who is an experienced compere and I will be conducting the Question and Answer panels.
In between the question and answer sessions we will be showing themed-compilations of BP moments.
This is the timetable at the moment:
12pm Event begins
12.30 Biddy Baxter, Edward Barnes, Darrol Blake, Renny Rye on stage.
2pm Charity Auction – we are going to raise some much-needed funds for the RNLI with a substantive auction of BP memorabilia. I will be acting as auctioneer with the help of Tina Heath and Sue Coombes from the RNLI. No list available in advance, because lots of items are being brought on the day by the guests.
3.30pm After tea, our new book on Blue Peter written by Richard Marson will be on sale and if you want to buy a copy of his book or our other new books on BAFTA and Weekending, or indeed buy Biddy's book and get it signed, that is entirely your choice.
Kaleidoscope will be handing out the list of missing programmes recovered between October 07 and October 08 during the tea break.
4.15pm Peter Duncan, Sarah Greene, Simon Groom, Tina Heath, Anita West on stage.
5.50pm Matt Baker, Liz Barker, Dave Cooke, Simon Thomas, Richard Marson on stage
7pm Close of Blue Peter event.
The audience includes other ex-BP personnel and Pamela Lonsdale, the former ITV children’s producer who is attending for the evening function. Other authors of our book range including Irene Shubik and James Cellan Jones are also going to pop in to say hi. The British Film Institute are sending along some representatives as well.
We are recording the event for posterity. Kaleidoscope is a research and fundraising group that works to inform historians about the history of television. We are not being paid for the event and will just cover costs if we are lucky so we implore you to buy books, lol.
Hope that helps.
Chris
