This does seem rather interesting indeed, also seems like an awful lot of home movie material to buy for how ever much TV related footage may be there, may just be s few passes of the camera at the TV screen, as has been known to happen. Also, the listing does not really state how much footage from the TV set is there, or what TV program's besides the moon-landing footage may be there. sounds like historical TV material ( Moon-landing, Nixon talking to Quarantined Astronauts). Would surmise from what the listing states here that the TV footage is most likely moon-landing TV related material, and seeing that quite a bit of TV studio footage, interviews, discussions are still missing? Would hope as well, that given the price, would be well worth a look, even if turns out to be nothing of interest, can always sell the remaining footage for stock film.
Also certain social and cultural museums will gladly accept 8mm home filmed footage which is of a culturally significant nature. Would hope as well, that someone with a very small amount of money to spend could rationalize purchasing some ( possibly?) very interesting 8mm material. The seller has been a member on Ebay for the last two years, and has 100% positive feedback rating. Definitely worth a look, anyone?
Cheers, Lance.

Looks like he's only shipping within the UK, otherwise I'd make a bid....

OK, I've just dropped out of the bidding at £22. I hope someone else from here manages to get hold of the film.

What did it get too.. I had a look myself, Had bidded but it got a bit to "rich" for me!!
still the material listed looked very nice indeed.
Has anyone noticed whenever Home 8mm or 16 for that matter, ever goes on ebay someone ALWAYS bids for it.. and more often or not the prices are stupidly high.. I was told by a TV "insider" that a lot of it get's bought by amutuer "stock footage" people hoping to license stuff back to doco makers. he told me a couple of horror story's about looking for some footage of a particular street, had a researcher comb archive shot lists. to no avail. he then by pure accident and in desperation did his own web search. turned out someone was selling a 8mm Home move that stated in the contents "various shots of blahh blahh street" he was overjoyed and of course bid. he was only prepared to pay about 10-20 quid as it was only one very small reel about 1 min worth. the bidding stopped at 50 pounds (gawd knows way it got that far) In the space of 2 days the winner (ebay emailed) all the losers of the auction offering them the film on DVD for insane amounts. he got in contact with the winner to hopefully get a copy Re-Tr'ed . but the guy was asking for thousands of USD for a copy of it. he was now "licensing" it! he went over to see this guy to see if he could come up with an alternative arrangement. apparently this "stock footige king" had hundreds of thousands of home movie film's all over his house. It was all he did. he bought all the home movie stuff he could get. and if he found say a brief shot of "beatles" "elvis" etc etc.. would go directly to their fan groups and offer the film to the highest bidder. apparently this guy had made millions in doing this.. loads of fans wanting to be "the only one" to see the film. kept prices in the 10's of thousands (sometimes a LOT more).. as i was told this I cant verify it. and me mate had a drink or two before he told me the tale!!!
But what a Idea eh? what a clever guy.
I asked him the other day if this kind of thing happened much. he said no not at all.. but once or twice "people of the street" have contacted his company (who make docos) trying to sell home footage that was clearly from ebay. at "crazy" prices.

Hello Again,
Just thought would state on a return message from the seller of these 8mm films, on the other possible program contents besides those listed in the ebay listing ? Stating:
"Just have these movies...there looks to be bits of news items..andy pandy watch with mother..miss world..light entertainment etc."
Does anyone have any idea if the winner of the auction? Just curious.
Cheers, Lance.
