Just seen the 13 hr "Election Night Special" on BBC PARL
some of the TR's of the 13 hrs have very bad Tram's all over them. the stability in one is shocking. and generally look like rather poor attempts to transfer the film to video/D3 or whatever. the prints with severe tram's have been softened to "reduce" the tramlining. etc etc.. Ive only seen the 1st hr (gawd there's a awful amount of "off lock's" type of effect when changing to OB camera's)
A few stupid questions. why was this archived? PASB's? why was it kept (do we know?) why is it in such a crappy state (being vaguely of historic importance it should have been Telecine-ed properly)
I Implore all those interested in comedy or any other Genre (of archive telle) to hunt this goldmine down.. its very very interesting and there's gonna be a few more jokes in Till Death Ill get now!! At first I though this would be as interesting as pulling teeth while watching (oil based) paint dry. but its got the lot.. hell even David frost is in it!! and ken dodd. robin day, Rich dim, etc etc
