This is not an old Apollo 11 subject!
I recently read that following the Apollo 11 mission in 1969; Harold Wilson made a live on air speech reviewing the significance of it; possibly similar to the existing Nixon footage.
We already know that most of the studio transmission 'in programme' footage for this mission does not exist; bar a short private VT; a '24 hours' update; super 8 material of some of the BBCs landing coverage; and the titles of the BBC evening news on it.
It seems likely now that none of ITNs coverage exists and all their holdings are retrieved material on the mission from America.
However it is known that some related programmes from the time on Apollo 11 do exist.
I wondered whether anyone knows whether there may be another programme or BBC news broadcast which contains Wilsons statement on the mission?

I wouldn't dispute for one minute that he did (the opportunistic old ******), but I have no recollection of that at all (and I watched just about everything that broadcast). Any idea what day (presumably the Monday) and what time ?

Part of this was shown (video - not tele-recording) in a programme broadcast in 1984 for the fifteenth anniversary - which I recorded.
Colin.
