Now, I've just signed-up here, so I don't know whether this thread will be seen as superfluous but I posted the same on OG and had an enormous response. What would you like released to DVD if all the episodes were recovered somehow? Any particular extras you'd like to see?

If ALL episodes were found I would deffinitely place Evil Of The Daleks, Dalek Masterplan, Web of Fear, Fury From The Deep, and The Smugglers up there on my top 5 list for first releases.
As for extras, it would be nice to see a documentary on how these episodes were recovered, transfered, and cleaned up. Commentary by the actors and crew would be nice as the ones on the early B/W DVD releases have been great.
Lance.

The Daleks Master Plan.
With a really big "making of" documentary and interviews/commentaries with Peter Purves, Jean Marsh, Nicholas Courtnay, Brian Cant, Kevin Stoney and any other of the actors still alive who were in it.

The Underwater Menace, so that all can see how brilliant it is...

The Underwater Menace, so that all can see how brilliant it is... Yes... an amusing extra for that could be "The Professor Zaroff Acting Masterclass"!

The Underwater Menace, so that all can see how brilliant it is... Are you mad, or have I missed the joke. I'm surprised no one's suggested Power of the Daleks, as its awesome. Features could include a look at Pat Troughton's doictor, the changeover of Doctors, and a look at David Whitiker, the writer.

I agree with you on the merits of "The Power of the Daleks".
If they all existed I'd be keen to see "Fury from the Deep". Victor Pemberton is still very much with us and still writing. I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to contribute to a feature on the writing of that serial and his involvement as script editor of that series. He's a very personable bloke and, I'm sure, would also have plenty of material to add concerning his family saga novels and other television/documentary productions.

You see, the thing is; EVERYONE knows that Power is brilliant, ditto Evil, ditto Fury etc, but mention The Underwater Menace and a lot of the time all you get is a "meh" at best. When, in fact, it is a quite compelling story, with a gloriously over the top villain.

I rather like the existing episode of "The Underwater Menace"... it is fun and I would welcome the opportunity to see the remaining episodes should they ever turn up.
Joseph Furst may be a little over the top but it works. One cannot say the same about when Brian Blessed guested on the show in the mid 80s... now THERE was a truly diabolical performance.
And then theres Bonnie Langford.... theres been some truly awful performances over Who history so why "The Underwater Menace" still attracts derision when theres worse that do exist is beyond me.

"Fury From the Deep", "The Smugglers" and "Marco Polo" from the stories currently still lost.
"The War Games" and the much-derided (but I like it!) "Day Of The Daleks" from the archived stories.

Likewise: "The Happiness Patrol". A lot of people seem unable to look beyond the set and the Kandyman and tend to rubbish it as kids' stuff but it's a very cleverly-crafted Kafkaesque tale satirising of our own society (hints of "The Prisoner" ). I love it anyway...

It has got to be Power of the daleks and Evil of the daleks that would be one hell of a double bill.
