So has anyone actually joined this? It looks to me as though it's just a place to copy threads from other forums...

I thought it was a cry for help in coping with genital herpes.

I think the link has (wisely) been deleted. Don't support hoaxers by supporting their sites....

Has anyone(on this board or otherwise) attempted to have a sensible conversation with Mr Ainsworth about his hoaxing, trolling etc?

Has anyone(on this board or otherwise) attempted to have a sensible conversation with Mr Ainsworth about his hoaxing, trolling etc? Of course! It has no effect whatsoever. I have asked him politely not to involve me in his activities. He says he will leave me alone. 24 hours later he's done something new. It's a very sad situation with that guy.

I believe his site, "A Journey to Cathay", is now run by others. AFAIK Andrew Ainsworth has no further involvement with the site.

Being one of the forum staff, I can tell you that indeed AA gave it to others. (Note to group...I never knew of the whole Marco Polo thing till later, and did not have any involvement, I think it was before I knew the person in question as well.) From my perspective, AA was always a nice guy, but I can see the reason to dislike a hoax like the one mentioned. After learning of it I asked the man about it, and he replied it was suppossed to be a joke. PS: Don't shoot the messenger/innocent bystander

Hiya Tom! How ya doing mate? Yeah, I've put the whole hoax thing behind me and no longer let it burn an ulcer in my stomach. Perhaps it's time for others to let it go too...?
