Back in the 80's I remember some guy I knew telling me that he had once worked for tv in Melbourne, Australia. Apparently there was this man called "Sharp" who had told him that he used to smuggle out film prints. "Sharp" (son't know his Christian name) was apparently a big Who fan. I'm not sure when this would have begun. My frined said he had visited Sharp's house, and was shocked to see something like 80 film prints stolen from the the tv station. Anyone in Oz who might be able to go on this (allegedly not very large or helpful) info may have better luck......

If they came from an independant station, there wouldn't be any Dr. Who -- those were run by the ABC.
Most of the TV shows (not ABC) in Australia were distributed by APS (The Australian Program Service) -- most of their prints (when they shut down in the early to mid 90s) were sold off and they're now in the hands of collectors. (We're talking thousands and thousands of prints)
What "Sharp" probably had were some APS prints.

Ooh, how fascinating. What a shame it isn't me. I'll check my garage anyway, though....

Maybe this guy has some missing episodes stashed ... www.voiceofevil.comhe appears to be from Australia and the episode he created seems to demonstrate a great deal of knowledge on the series .. ... or are we clutching at straws ? ;D

There's really nothing else to tell -- it was a film distribution company for TV, and all of it's films got either sold off or destroyed. The missing episodes of "Terry Scott On ..." that I found a few years ago had APS leaders on them.

I agree with William on this one.

I can see nothing on that Voice of Evil site to suggest that the site owner has missing episodes.
Further, if merely having:
...is an indicator that someone might have missing episodes... well, as stated; straw clutcing, really, isn't it...?
By that argument Andrew Pixley, who is one of the (if not the) most knowledgeable person with regard to Dr Whi, just must have missing epsiodes...
(Note: Andrew Pixley does not have missing epsiodes. Wouldn't want to start a rumour...)

as lance says, it is worth a go perhaps he may have some leads, he almost certainly hasn't but perhaps we can get him interested in doing some incvestigation of his own.

You might as well ask the same of every person who runs a Dr Who website.

;D Well... actually the reason I drew attention to "The Voice Of Evil" is because the site originates in AUSTRALIA www.voiceofevil.com....and this particular thread topic is about Australian leads .. So to ask EVERY web-site owner (including those NOT originating from Australia) would be off the topic of this thread ;D Another good reason I mentioned the site is because the episode was damned entertaining .. although not classified as "missing" it certainly is an episode unseen on T.V before
