Nick,
I'll have to correct you on Time Warrior, as I have a copy in episodic format.

How? I thought that the BBC only released it in the movie format?
Lance.

Nick, I'll have to correct you on Time Warrior, as I have a copy in episodic format. After checking thru my dr who video collection I realized the title was the Sontarian Experiment and not The Time Warrior. Sorry for getting the title mixed up. Regards Andrew

If you get a chance to see this one with the loose cannon and the BBC videos in correct viewing order it's a great story, probably my favourite Troughton one.

Re: The Invasion
You are dead right. Although I haven't seen the Loose Cannon one (finding it hard to get any copies from he site to be honest) I love The Invasion. Even incomplete and with the soundtrack I think it is easily Troughton's best. It would take Web of Fear to turn up to convince me otherwise.

I don't know about Troughton's best but it certainly ranks within my top 5 (of his anyway). I must confess to more than a passing interest in "Fury from the Deep", "The Web of Fear", both Dalek stories, "The Macra Terror" and "The Highlanders" as well as "The Invasion" - but I'd hate to have to put them in order...

"the time warrior has never been released in episodic form. Correct me if im wrong."
Yes, that's right and is exactly what I said a couple of posts above yours. It's the ONLY complete story released in movie format that didn't get an episodic re-release. Plus, it's one of the better Pertwees anyway (and, IMO, the best story by far from season 11).

I must have got that one confused as well. Is there a contract problem with this?

It was definitely the best story from season 11. Would love to see it in episode format as well.

On behalf of other Australians, I would like the next Pertwee story release to be something the ABC wouldn't show in their recent run of DW. Day of the Daleks or Frontier in Space perhaps?

Possibly the "Sea Devils", or "Monster of Peladon".

Day of the Daleks is under rated so it would be good to release it.I cant see why with some seasons like the complete ones why they cant be put out in boxes.Other series have it that way.We may be retired before they get to all the existing Doctor Whos at this rate.

Why not release "Dr Who" in Season boxsets? One simple reason matey: Money!
Why release "Dr Who" by season when there is a ready target market of fans with high disposable incomes who will readily part with truckloads of cash to buy this show in bite-sized chunks (a story/serial at a time).
In the case of the orphaned episodes being released (and making a large profit) I guess we should be thankful that the BBC are not releasing the older stuff an episode at a time!
...and next month's releases... "The War Machines": Episode 3 (only) and "The Daemons": Episode 4 (only - but it's the colour one!)
