I like Rugby and Cricket as well, great sports. Although, the BSU Fiesta Bowl game was a great game indeed, had the first touchdown literally at the kickoff to the game, then varried. Everyone at work was watching the TV, placed a few bets on the game, was fun. Thanks for the congrats and good wishes Wright, always welcome. Lance. Definetly one of the best college games I've seen in my adult life. Of course, the game where Georgia trounced Boise St. a few years ago was a tad bit better. ;D We've got to do that again sometime.

Hello All,
I just wanted to inform you that at long last the DVD archive viewing copies have arrived. I watched both items the other night, was neat to see Newman at such a young age. Unfortunately there were no Dr Who clips present, but there was somethings of interest to discuss with you all.
Newman was origionally explained to being interviewed by a CBC reporter, it now appears through Newman's replies to some inquiries made that the reporter works or is related in some way to the BBC. Also newman's office appears to be on BBC grounds, not in Canada as was previously explained through description. Newman talks about his success and time with ABC, and on Armchair Theatre. He discusses his success with Dr Who a bit. He also proudly displays two old toy Daleks that are seen on his desk. They are the same sort as seen in Power Of The Daleks conveyour belt scene.
Now for the really intriguing bit, On the outake reel there is a further bit of footage from the forementioned BBC TV studio. It deffinitely is some sort of futuristic looking BBC tv show, shows caera men and staff running around madly and directing orders, then they start to shoot a scene. There are large white square pillars, and backdrops on the set, then it pans to a shot with two characters, one takes off a smock shirt, and looks to address a room with desks and people sitting at them. It has the look of a edition of Out Of The Unknown, but more investigation on this is needed. Would be great to find out if this does indeed come from a missing edition of OOTU. There is also a short segment of Newman in a BBC editing suite, looking at a monitor I presume, the camera does not pan that far around. This deffinitely should be included on a future BBC release of some sort, has some really intriguing info and recollections from Newman in his prime. Am very interested to know from what show or series the TV studio footage origionates from. Was neat to see all the vintage camera booms, and hairstyles, garb, that sort of thing.
So, there is Dr Who material in the way of some recollections from the creator of the series, as well as its relation as a program or serial in the BBC departments, which are explained in great detail by Newman, sure did smoke a lot of cigarettes though.
Continue watching this space for futrher news as it arives. Thank you again to all who supported and assisted me here with this lead. Will let you guys know what I find out on this new mystery.
Lance.

Sounds great mate!! Im looking forward to seeing it eventually. I know Ian Levine is a big fan of OOTU, maybe you should ask him, I have a feeling he would have an idea Pity there were no who clips on there, but it sounds like a great find all the same! Props to you for your great research and determination!! GH

That may be a tad difficult Ian, as this item is a research copy sent to me from the CBC archives, and is under copyright, we would need to contact the archives again to see what may be arranged in light of getting a viewing copy over to the UK for inspection. I am as interested as everyone else is to what show or series this behind the scenes clip may be from.

Interesting question. You could always ask CBC if it would violate copyright if you showed screen grabs to Ian in order to identify some of the footage. I dont think they would object, but it would be well to ask first so as not to jeopardise your relations with them.
