Hi All, We may have to face the possibility that many of the old eps are gone never to be seen again. So why not simply recast & remake those lost episodes. After all the BBC has done it twice ( Richard Hurndall & Peter Cushing). So That brings on the question of who plays Who??
My Top 3 for Doctor #1 are
1. Patrick Stewart 2. Peter O'Toole 3. Christopher Lee
Doctor # 2 :
1. Rowan Atkinson 2. Colm Meaney 3. Michael Troughton (Yes He is) 4. David Troughton (Him Too!)
Anyone else know of anyone who could do who?
Ike

In fact, I didn't even realise they'd been around that long. It's amazing, the choice nuggets of information you guys turn up.

Remaking the episodes is an old idea, and it was never a very good one.

I looked on the net to find which company produced the films, but couldn't (the darn thing's escaped my memory). Was it Hammer?

Nah...maybe not re-makes, but if the first doc were to turn up in the new series I would pump for Ian Richardson. He's got the look AND the right kinda voice. Geoffrey Bayldon looks right but the voice is all off (just listen to the unbound stories).
