Does anyone know if Lis Sladen's 1976 Nationwide interview still exists.Would be good for a DVD extra if it does, but Nationwide's archive holdings are quite ropy.

I hope not - but I believe she is going to make an appearance in the new Who at some stage.
As a 15 year old I had a tremendous crush on her - but unlike Katy Manning, she never wore skirts...Culottes were the best one could hope for. Ah, the pangs of adolescence!
It was always 'Liz' rather than 'Lis' in my day, too...

Yeah in an episode called:
3: School Reunion Writer: Toby Whithouse Director: James Hawes Cast: Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith), Anthony Stewart Head (Mr Finch), John Leeson (K9), Noel Clarke (Mickey), Eugene Washington (Mr Wagner), Caroline Berry (Unknown), Rod Arthur (Unknown), Joe Pickley (Kenny), Lucinda Dryzek (Melissa), Heather Cameron (Nina), Benjamin Smith (Luke), Clem Tibber (Milo)
The Doctor is reunited with old friends Sarah Jane Smith and K9 at a mysterious school overrun by the evil Krillitanes and their Headmaster.
I wish I could see the new series two as the episodes are broadcast.
Lance.

I'll watch, but it still doesn't even begin to make up for cancelling Farscape.

Talking of which, didn't she make an appearance with Tom Baker on Swap Shop around the time of Hand of Fear? Surely that should be a DVD extra? - anyone know if it still exists?

Neither the Nationwide or Swap Shop appearances exist officially - that is they aren't in the BBC archive. Both were live programmes and weren't recorded. It's possible someone somewhere recorded one or both off-air...

:-/Thanks Andrew, you're the first person who's actually grasped what this thread was suposed to be about. But then i suppose it's my fault for naming it just 'Lis Sladen' rather than 'Lis Sladen Nationwide Interview'.

The only other pairing would be Jon Perwee/Roger Delgado. Not companions as such but both took at least one trip in the Tardis ("The Claws of Axos") and that seemed to be enough for both Katerina and Sara Kingdom to be considered companions
