There is a guy I have been talking to on the Doctor Who Club of Australia forum who claims that a school friend of his had several missing episodes on VHS in the 80s that had been struck from 8mm off screen recordings in Britain "I'm most sure that he had at one of the Yeti stories, maybe both.". Here is a link: www.drwhoaustralia.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=508He says he has not been in contact with the guy for over 10 years. Is this even possible? I would assume that he must be mistaken, but if it is possible is it worth continuing to ask him to try to contact this man?

True, and Im more than willing to pursue it, its just the guy doesnt seem to like the idea of me or him tracking this guy down to ask about them. Im willing to push the issue, but is it worth it? Is there any chance that this might be true?

Sounds like he had a copy of the 8mm footage that's on the Lost in Time DVD to me... You certainly couldn't fit a whole episode on to a reel of 8mm, that's for sure.
Certainly worth looking in to, though, just in case...

Sounds like he had a copy of the 8mm footage that's on the Lost in Time DVD to me... Hmm, possibily, but the 8mm material that Jan Vincent-Rudski obtained (and which actually hails from Australia in the first place) didn't start getting out into fandom until the mid-1990s. Not on a normal single reel, certainly. But you could do what Jan, Stephen Payne and Ian Levine did with The Zarbi back in 1977 and use several reels and then splice them together, but this would, of course, be highly unlikely! ;D Richard

and unless you had 2 cameras and 2 tvs there'd be a gap during each film change(about 10 with super8 and about 15 with std8) unless you had a fancy 200' magazine, it's seeming a longer and longer shot but still worth taking.

Here's some sobering facts I live in australia and have been involved in fandon for over 20 years i have heard EVERY i repeat EVERY form of hoax sory since then.. thousands you have never heard ( and yes i USED to follow most up) untill the mid 90's when the net took over.. And before you say.. oh well how many epps have been discoverd since yo 1st started looking.. well ok quite a few (in the early years anyhow) but if you staked the Rumors agaist acuall epps found at would be like 10000 to 1 ,, no joke.. yes it would be great to find somthing and hell not just who.. but after 20 years you get a bit jaded!!! and you get a bit of a laugh coming here to see the Next Next Next generation of fans looking in ALL the same placed we did 10 years befvore they were born.. IE singapore etc etc !!

To Be fair Ade,
It might be a laugh, and I'm sure it is. But this must be a good thing in the fact that this subject is still a passion for many out there who still take the time and effort (mainly without results) to chase these elusive prints.

Hello,
Are you sure that there is no way to contact him ? How about those cheap internet peoplefinder sites to contact him ? Just a thought. Please feel free to send me a response as soon as your time will allow.
Lance.

I just wanted to know if anyone thought this was worth pursuing, and it seems the jury is a bit divided. Regardless, I have asked the guy to reconsider tracking him down, and await his response. I am sure he could be found if the guy gives it a chance.

So don't be disappointed (or indeed surprised at all) if nothing comes of it.

It is interesting to note that the posting claiming to know this 'person' has made around 250 posts on that message board and not mentioned it until now. Either: - He never felt it important until now - He never realised the importance of his past aquaintance until now - He's a bullsh*tter.
