Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I'm not sure how many on this board have adopted celebating Turkey Day. But obviously, we over here on the other side of the Pond have been busy eating and watching football, the customary of celebrating the modern holliday (Go Falcons!). Of course, the main reason for Thanksgiving is about being Thankful. So, here's what I'm Thankful as a Doctor Who fan:
I'm thankful for the surviving episodes that we have of the Sixties. I'm thankful for the Seventies Pertwee episodes that survive in both color and black and white. I'm thankful that many of the actors, directors, and writers are still around to help us give the background on the series. This goes double for Misters Baker, Davidson, Baker, McCoy, etc. I'm thankful the series is back in production, and hopeful that someday, we here in the US may actually get to see it (legally) on tv or something! (At least a dvd set). I'm thankful for the Restoration Team doing its job of preserving and restoring those episodes that exist. And for working hard to restoring them to as close to their original condition as possible. (Thank you, VidFire!). I'm thankful for the dvds, and hopeful that "The Deadly Assassin" comes out this year (30th aniversary, I beleve). And finally, I'm thankful for a Message Board to communicate with others around the world who are passionate about searching for the chance of finding those missing episodes that hopefully are still out there. Keep hope alive!
