After reconciling myself to 108 missing episodes of Doctor Who, I was gobsmacked to learn that audio exists of every episode.
I believe it's now 10 years since the last missing audios came to light. To all those who very fortunately made audio recordings, including James Russell, Richard Landen, Graham Strong, David Butler and David Holman, gentlemen a big thank you!

I'll just hijack this thread to post my work-in-progress website on the subject: www.angelfire.com/magic/thedoctorwhonexus/audiorecoveries.htmIf anyone has any information about this area I'd like some feedback, errors corrected, etc. I'll get around to updating the site at some stage. And to the topic, yes, we're very grateful to those brave, brave fans.

Hello There Just to correct a mistake I have spotted on your great new audio recordings website. In The David Stead collection, you state that David taped The Tomb of the Cybermen off air, which was subsequently released on BBC audio. This is not true. The copy of Tomb...was aquired by me from a gentleman in the Manchester area and then passed onto David, who I believe then had the tape rejigged (it was originally running slightly fast). The new copies were then made available to the BBC.I still have the original cassette from whence the copies came.It brings back great memories. Im sure if David visits this site then he will verify this. Many Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike. It’s little bits like that which are extremely helpful.
Much appreciated.

And The Tenth Planet VHS was released in 2000, not 1999.

I thought I'd also add that the following episodes also came from Australia:
Invasion 1, 4 (as you stated on your site) Fury From The Deep 1 - 6 The Wheel In Space 1 - 5, and approx 5 to 10 minutes of episode 6 (I assume that the tape ran out) The Space Pirates 1 - 6
The Invasion Episodes were the basis for the master on the official BBC release, and I believe the copies of Wheel & Space Pirates were used for patching on the official releases.

I actually assisted with the recovery of the Graham Strong episodes. I was sent a sample tape by Paul Lee and was blown away by the quality - I've always said it sounded as good as watching the TV with your eyes shut.
Passed the sample tape along to Peter Finklestone (who knew members of the Restoration Team) and passed along Paul Lee's details. He did the rest.
Well, that's my little claim to fame.

I've updated my audio page, bringing it inline with the rest of the website (which I still have to link together).
Let me know if I've made a mistake, missed anything out or have phrased something badly and you'd prefer it done better... especially if you're the person I'm talking about!
There are a few things I'm still tweaking, and some things are clearly missing (such as the sections on where each recording was used). That might be a job for after Christmas now.

Are any of these currently available in the US? I've tried looking for some in the spoken word sections of Border's and Barnes& Noble, but no such luck.

Try Amazon.com. They should have many of the stories available on CD.
