I have noticed of late that two trends are becoming more and more prevalent on this forum. 1. That people are asking the same questions ad nauseum and... 2. That some suggestions are starting to get a little unhinged. I really would like to know what other posters think about this - am I really off the mark with what I'm saying or do I have a point? My suggestion to cut this down is to have a more comprehensive FAQ section so those who aren't in the know about certain things can be quickly brought up to speed. Obviously, the answers in many areas are far from complete so I welcome any discussion that will add to our understanding. Regarding the second point - I think some people are getting obsessed to an unhealthy, and potentially damaging, degree. Only my opinions so please don't take offence - I really just want to know what the concensus on these points are...

For the life of me, I can't work out why 'vest' has appeared on my posting, but it has made me smile! Take 'vest' to mean 'Forum'. ;D

I have noticed that recently there appear to be a growing amount of messages from someone who likes to use a wide variety of different user names, but whose messages are all distinguished by the fact that none of them ever feature capital letters!

Richard yes, and he, doesn't know how, to use, commas either!

A FAQ is a good idea, but would they bother to read it?

Richard Yes, I've noticed that since the thread by "toby mcguire". I think it's a pretty safe bet that they're all by the same person. At least they aren't using text speech.

Off topic but is Anthony H the same Anthony H that claimed he had seen, or had a friend who had seen, (I can't remember which), the Marco Polo and Mythmakers episodes a while back?

I've been thinking about doing a FAQ in two sections. Not sure if I can actually be bothered though. The first section would cover what fans could do to help recover missing episodes (keeping an eye out if you attend a car boot sale and checking online auction sites for example) and what fans shouldn't do (contacting overseas television archives, contacting ex-BBC employees, for example) explaining why (hindering possible future BBC inquiries for example). The second section would cover the most and least likely chances of recovering episodes - more likely being private collectors and mislabeled film cans for example and the least likely being hassling overseas television archives and landfill sites for example. A third section could include answers to common queries (or frequently asked questions...) and corrections to myths.

A good idea - and since a lot of these FAQs also appear on the Restoration Team's webpage for the saemr eason (to cut down on repitition), you could steer them to that forum quidelines as well... Jon

Anything to prevent the old chestnut about digging up landfill sites again...
Trouble, unless you e-mail them to "certain individuals", there's no guarantee that they'll be read...
