There may be hope for missing material yet.
Lance.

There may be hope for missing material yet. Lance. At least there's more hope for missing clips showing up than there is Boise State beating UGA ;D (Have you started classes yet, Lance?)

Let's hope it's the completed Unified Field Theorem.

Let's hope it's the completed Unified Field Theorem. It wasn't, sadly.

I'd heard of that before. Mabye someone will someday figure how to recover images that have been recorded over on a video tape. I'm not sure if I want the Draconian Laws recovered, though. The Patriot Act is bad enough.

Anyone remember that New Mission Impossible episode...I tink it's the one where the woman character dies and is replaced by Jane Badler...where Phelps and the gang use tech to 'un-erase' a video tape and retrieve the wiped images? I remember thinking at the time: "They should try that with the old DW video tapes". Along this line, a recent news article talked about new computer gear that was being used to try to restore the erased portions of the Nixon Watergate tape. (You know, the bits where he mentions ordering the break-in and the conspiracy to kill JFK etc. ) That project was going well, last I heard, so unerasing videotape may be the next step! Magnetic resonance echo, I think the phenomena is called. Jeff

The next step after that would be the hard one: Trying to find 30-40 year old video tape that might have a lost episod on it.

The next step after that would be the hard one: Trying to find 30-40 year old video tape that might have a lost episod on it. That's the biggest problem, isn't it? It might be easier just to find the missing films! I wonder how many videotapes are known to previously contain Doctor Who episodes. The only one I know of is The Enemy of the World 3, which now features an episode of Blue Peter. Wouldn't it be fascinating to know what was recorded onto the wiped tapes of lost episodes? I read recently that the Apollo 11 tape now features horse racing...
