Where exactly are these carboot sales in Stoke-on-Trent that sell 16mm (I assume) films?

One slight thing that supports the Mission theory over The Chase is that Mission does indeed feature thorny Varga plants in a jungle.
Under no stretch of the imagination can the fungoids in The Chase be decribed as "thorny" !!!!

Under no stretch of the imagination can the fungoids in The Chase be decribed as "thorny" !!!! Perhaps, but it's doubtfully a complete episode for a few reasons, specifically because I assume they've seen the clip in order to describe it and therefore probably saw the size of the film reel too. Besides, it's probably just an inaccurate choice of wording. I'm sure the person has actually seen The Chase 6 in order to recognise it. Not sure what the bunker is though. The Mechanoid city, perhaps? I've just realised, I don't think I've ever seen a photo of a Varga plant. Do any exist? I can't find any online. Edit: I use the words "assume", "presumably" and "probably" too much at the moment...

How do we know that the Mission lead is connected to the Chase discovery? Because the person who originally posted the Mission thread was the same person who a couple of weeks later saw the same seller with the same film which turned out to be the Chase extract.

It would be interesting to know how much he purchased it for?

Loose cannons have excellent pictures of vargas on there wonderful mission to the unknown reconstruction, weather they are genuine photos or composites, I don't know.

But what about this Mission lead? How do we know that the Mission episode in this lead is the same Mission that turned out to be the Chase? Or is Mark actually Mathew?

No clue. Is there any way that we can get in contact with either the chap who was selling the film, or whoever bought the film? He could of transfered the Mission film from its origional film can to another can that was better fitting, who knows really. Just a thought, I sure wish that this rumor tends to be true, and Mission to the Unknown has indeed been found.
Lance.

I seriously doubt that you could afford the price he'd be asking. I remember reading somewhere in the thread that the asking price was in the five figure range.

You may be surprised who can raise that kind of cash...
Don't look at me, though...

Stone me!
Here is the chain of events as I see it:
* - Matthew James sees "a film can with "Dalek cut-away" possibly "Dalek cut-aways", can't remember exactly" at a car boot sale in Stoke.
* - He posts about it here.
* - Thus people talk about it, and along the line Chinese Whispers come into effect.
* - In a PM to me Mr James confirms that it was ***NOT*** a missing episode.
* - Mark Vollmers hears these Chicnese Whispers and, and asks about what what he has heard here.
* - We can be sure that both Matthew and Mark's tales relate to the same thing as they both feature Mission being "found" at a car boot sale in Stoke. What are the chances of two copies of that appearing at the same time, in the same town, at the same type of sale?
There is no find here.

How pleasant to hear the voice of reason - that sounds the most plausible chain of events to me. Move along now people - there's nothing more to see here Stuart
