I've often wondered if missing clips could still exist in other programmes. I guess I now know the answer.
Not groundbreaking, but brilliant news nevertheless.

All the details are already on the Restoration Team's message board. Earlier this evening, Andrew Martin posted details about the origins of both the Doctor Who and Out of the Unknown clips and all the other information is available in the earlier threads.
Basically, there are three clips, each less than ten seconds. One is the already-existing production-line sequence in superior quality, whilst the other two clips are of the Daleks outside the capsule. I think. (It would be good if a news site would post an article with all the details as following the threads is somewhat confusing.)

Excellent news, I only hope one day a clip of Marco Polo shows up on another programme somewhere someday soon. :s

Fantastic news! We should have the rest of the story back at this rate in just a few decades. ;D

Apparently it's been reconstructed, so now it'll have to be re-reconstructed

Apparently it's been reconstructed, so now it'll have to be re-reconstructed Do you mean the BBC release? If so, that didn't incorporate the clips. From a marketing point-of-view, I can see why, although it's a shame for the fans who'd have liked a "complete" reconstruction using all available material. As for the fan-made reconstructions, I'd imagine it's quite easy to insert the new clips without having to re-do the entire reconstruction. Marco Polo is a different story, however...
