What are your thoughts on the new arrangement on the title music for the new series...?
Just had a listen - not too keen on it to be honest. Musically speaking it seems a bit of a cut and paste job with mistimed incidentals etc. Such a shame as the new base and harmony sounded good all by themselves...

Have not heard it yet....but the only thing you all have to worry about is Mike Grade binning it all...being a well known "Who-Hater".......

Yeah - well... as I said - from a technical point of view: a shame musically - but then that always seems to be the case when someone re-arranges a re-arranged re-arrangement of something that someone re-arranged from the original before... Sometimes it's best just to re-record from the original arrangement - or devise a new piece altogether. Not a good idea, though, to re-write bits to go under any original bits - comes out looking like a patchwork quilt that has been re-patched too many times... Mind you - it's nothing like the original "Tomorrow People" opening theme (which, as a piece of music and a mood-setter I think is SUPERB) - however, like all such things, I guess it'll grow on us...

What are your thoughts on the new arrangement on the title music for the new series...? Well, my thoughts are that it isn't on any of the missing episodes, so is therefore off-topic. There are countless other forums where this would be on-topic, so please do we have to clutter up this one..?

Seeing as no-one had posted anything for a good day or so I thought I'd just break the ice and start conversation. So, sorry and all that. Hope this reply doesn't clutter up your doubtless over-filled forum. Oh, hang on. You're not an administrator, are you? Why the bossy-boots nature, I wonder...?

Guess so... However one should refrain from extending one's claws - lest someone else play the same game...
Personally I couldn't give a monkeys what anyone talks about as long as it leads to intelligent and convivial discourse...

The Radiophonic Workshop redid the theme tune in the seventies but it was never used apparently. You can see why. I don't think it should have been changed, but I can't criticise - the synth strings go very well. If I were to do it however, I would have gone a little further in developing the piece - I think the equipment available now would allow to create the soundscape the workshop would have originally intended.
