It's not the joke that annoyed me (the "Web of Fear found?" "Not Yeti!" at OG made me laugh), but the fact that everyone picks of The Space Pirates and generally doesn't give a crap whether it's recovered or not! If an episode did turn up, fans would probably start listing their top three episodes they'd wished had turned up. Same goes for The Savages, The Underwater Meance and Enemy of the World.

Tish and fips! If Underwater Menace came back I would cheer most heartily and sing songs in its praise!

I watched The Underwater Menance: Episode Three earlier for the millionth time and LOVE it so much! There's so many charming moments that would have been lost if only the soundtrack survived - Ben's occasional smiles at the Doctor (great how Michael shines even when given little to do when Frazer's character came on the scene), Ben and Jamie in rubber or whatever it is (...), the spear, the Amdo scene where the Doctor and the priest are to be sacrificed, Zaroff's melodrama, the underwater sequences to name but a few.

Who said I was deriding "The Space Pirates"? I was just having a bit of fun with the moment.
It was just sheer coincidence that the serial of the moment happened to be "The Space Pirates" at the same time that I found that kiddies book with the same title.
I would have done the same had it been "The Evil of the Daleks" or "Fury from the Deep" and I'd found something with the same title! ;D ;D ;D
Actually I would gladly consign "The Dominators" or "The Sensorites" to the flames if it meant getting the "The Space Pirates" back in the archives.
Now lets all get on with having fun and leave this thread alone - it's done it's dash now and the moment has well and truly passed.
Administrators - feel free to lock or delete this thread now...
