I remember reading a while ago about an idea that the Britisg government might of shown the soldiers 16mm films and possibly television episodes on 16mm film projectors. And I believe through a friend who contacted the National British Archives that they do indeed posess records of the films or television episodes shown to the soldiers a while ago. This could lead to some leads on where some of those films or television episodes are located. Any Ideas on this subject? ( Please, no snide comments or rude fights between members here, to keep up with tghe lighter tone of this forum, Thanks for your cooperation).

Now we know why British troops went into Iraq twice!! They couldn't find Marco Polo the first time ;D Now that Saddam is to be kept in a cage while on trial maybe we could ask him what happened to the prints Actually, on a realistic note there was a similair thread on the restoration team about this. A member of the team had actually gone as far as to contact the research stations in the Antartic about possible material. The lengths people go to! Any avenue is worth travelling really. Steve

I don't know about film recordings, but didn't British Forces Broadcasting rather notoriously junk all of their quad tapes in the late 1980s?

I am sure I remember someone - my memory says Mr Molesworth - saying that he'd checked this avenue and the BFBS had nothing as all they did have had been junked.
