Hi everyone..... Ive been a fan since the early 70s and had access to Doctor Who on N1500 format video since 1971 when my Grandad bought a Philips machine........the cassettes were scarily expensive, only 1 was bought a month!!-- since then, I have got everything on BBC VHS and home recording on Uk Gold. Has anyone out there bought a DVD recorder yet, and copied onto dvd format (to keep for the next 30 years or so.........) Did "tomb of the cybermen" record ok?; I want the Philips DVD-r machine, has anyone got any advice for me, or others out there?........................regards, ianj

Inanj, I have just put one on lay-by and will have it in about two months. I am going to record all the dr who (old & new) on it. I already have several BBC DVDs on Who including the LOST IN TIME triple pack. The model i'm getting is the Panasonic DMR-E85H (HDD 80 GB). Actually I did have a huge collection of BBC Videos but sold them all. I also have several VCDs with missing episodes done via audio and pictures (the reconstructions). My fave is marco polo.
Regards Andrew

By the way, blah blah blah, Planet of the Daleks episode 3, Invasion of the Dinosaurs 1, etc. Well nobody's mentioned them yet! ;D

Didn't record "The Golden Shot" and "Timeslip" by any chance, did he? I'm more interested in 'The Mind of Evil', 'Planet of the Daleks' and 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs'.
