In 1962 comedy writer Alan Simpson and Ray Galton wrote a new comedy pilot for the BBC's Comedy Playhouse. Set in a house and a yard full of junk, it featured rag and bone men Albert Steptoe and his unmarried son Harold... The series very quickly struck a chord with the nation with audience figures broaching twenty million viewers and was recently voted no.15 in Britain's Best Sitcom. Series Three: These episodes from series three of the classic comedy were broadcast in the UK in January and February 1964. By this point the antics of the trapped 'young' would-be sophisticate and his grimy manipulative father were required viewing up and down the country. Episode Title: 1. Home Fit For Heroes 2. Steptoe a La Cart 3. The Wooden Overcoats 4. Sunday For Seven Days 5. The Lead Man Cometh 6. The Bonds That Binds Us 7.
