Can any wise soul tell me how many episodes of It's That Man Again reside in the archives?
I caught the VITMA episode on excellent Radio 7 and was v impressed by Tommy Handley.
Still can't get the song they sang about Churchill out of my head either.
'One sniff of the old Havannah...'

Yep Thats What I thought !!. I just though work came in contact with a old collector who has 100dreds of Home Made Acetate's Most DO NOT exist on INFAX As I checked it with him "mostly take it from here, and loads of TS disc's that were aired Down Under . But alas he won't surender any.. god knows I tried. I even showed him my prized collecting of "expert stylus company" Truncated Elliptical Needles. "a size for every occasion" 2.5 seems to to be the best size for late 40's TS disc's BTW , and our Real honest to goodness "OK i built and designed it" Flat Preamp, and I even offered him Flat Untouched Transfers on CD, DAT, Minidisc, Hi-Fi VHS, Open Reel 15IPS, Cassette, Writing all the 0's and 1's on reams of paper ANYTHING!! but No he is one of the " I'll just hold on to these for the time being" type collectors.. Gawd knows where he got em from . I just wish i could have taken a Pic of his "record room" I know Ill never forget. On a related Note . Does anyone know how to get the "Whiteness" out of Acetates? where some or all of the surface of the disc gets a whitish mold? Its Bloody Audible and as I'm handling "one of a kind" Disc's I Though I'd ask.. (i have some Home made acetates of Benny Goodman's Sextet, you know.. the one with Charlie Christian the Worlds 1st Electric Guitarist.) and one has turned whitish.. Most of the Acetate that have this mold play Great "Wet" but not this one.. Would Oil Help? I'd hate to put a "solution" on the disc and have it melt !!!.

Does anyone have a more conclusive answer as to how many episodes of ITMA exist in the archives? I'm particularly interested in episodes from the summer 1945 period, which featured Ann Rich. She replaced Paula Green as the show's singer. It would be Series 8, which ended in June 1945. Judging by the BBC programme website here, the only 1945 episodes they have are two from March and the Victory Edition from May.

There is also a very early film recording of the post-show section of a televised episode, when the King and Queen were in the audience in December 1947. Their majesties are seen being introduced to the cast and crew, and the commentator assures us that during the show His Majesty more than once "threw back his head and bayed at the moon."

Good to hear as he's normally portrayed as quite stoic, except when getting stressed over not being able to give speeches in public.
