I have 2 recordings of the Radio 2 Series Sounds of The Sixties from the mid - 80's featuring George Martin and Jet Harris respectively, both hour long shows, anyone got any info as to when I could have recorded them as I didnt jot the dayes down?

George Martin : 18.4.87, repeated 8.4.89. Can't find anything for Jet Harris, I'm afraid.

Thanks Vinylman, I suspect I may have recorded the Jet Harris one earlier - can't think why i didnt date them - maybe didnt realise I'd still have them 20 years later!

You're very welcome. There are a LOT of editions of SOTS without details, just TX dates.

I have an episode which features Davy Jones and I think Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees as guest presenters. Does this still exist in the archives? Thanks.

I think the Monkees one could be 12/4/86. That had Davy Jones and Peter Tork presenting. Is yours an off-air cassette? Please p.m. me if it is!
The Jet Harris one is 21/2/87.

I knew one of the presenters was Davy Jones but couldn't remember which other Monkee was on it. Yes it's off-air. It's on a TDK C60 so there's probably a gap when I turned the tape over. Not sure where it is at the moment, but I know I've not thrown it out. If I remember correctly the pressure pad thing is missing so it'll have to be repaired first.

I found the cassette last week, so I'll try and get it fixed so I can transfer it.
I've got another 2 identical TDK tapes which I can use for spare parts or I may just transfer the tape over to a good shell.

Are Keith Fordyce Sounds of the Sixties off-air recordings of any use? Do they exist in the archives? I've found a full episode and 45mins of another.
The 45min part episode I've managed to work out is 2nd November 1985 as it contains the news bulletin prior to the start of the show, where they announce the death of Phil Silvers (1/11/85).

I vaguely know one of the members of the British Phil Silvers Appreciation Society who runs the Phil Silvers museum up at Coventry, they might be interested in a copy of that. Would you like me to ask?

Not sure if anyone can help me regarding a radio show called Saturday Swings, broadcast on December 9 1967. Trying to find a copy which includes a performance by a Sandra Brown. Sorry, should have been December 9, 1964
Secondly. I realize that this forum is for british broadcast. Does anyone know if there is a similar site for Danish radio. Thanks, Tony

Thanks, Tony There was a Saturday afternoon show called "Saturday Swings" on the BBC Light Programme during 1964-1966, but I'm not aware that it continued into the Radios One & Two era in 1967

"Saturday Swings" was aired on Saturday afternoons on the Light until 25th June 1966, but there were no editions aired in 1967 - genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/search/80/20?order=asc&q=%22Saturday+Swings%22#searchThe programme did not air on Saturday 9th December 1967, because afternoon broadcasting on that date was allocated to Radio 1 (in those far off days, the two stations shared a single BBC broadcast frequency on a time-share basis) - genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/radio2/1967-12-09December 9th was not a Saturday in 1964. It was a Wednesday. Probably what you want is this - Light Saturday 19 December 1964 14.00 SATURDAY SWINGS FRANKIE VAUGHAN AND THE V GROUP, THE KARL DENVER TRIO, MAUREEN EVANS, KENNY LYNCH, THE POLKA DOTS, SHEILA SOUTHERN, SANDRA BROWNE and PETER LEE STIRLING with THE BRUISERS, WOUT STEENHUIS and some swinging discs BBC NORTHERN DANCE ORCHESTRA Conductor BERNARD HERRMANN THE SATURDAY SOUND Directed by TOMMY WATT Introduced by DON WARDELL Produced by DOREEN DAVIES See - genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/5ee922ef2dae463097b15046298fadf4
