I have 2 recordings of the Radio 2 Series Sounds of The Sixties from the mid - 80's featuring George Martin and Jet Harris respectively, both hour long shows, anyone got any info as to when I could have recorded them as I didnt jot the dayes down?
Are Keith Fordyce Sounds of the Sixties off-air recordings of any use? Do they exist in the archives? I've found a full episode and 45mins of another.
The 45min part episode I've managed to work out is 2nd November 1985 as it contains the news bulletin prior to the start of the show, where they announce the death of Phil Silvers (1/11/85).
I vaguely know one of the members of the British Phil Silvers Appreciation Society who runs the Phil Silvers museum up at Coventry, they might be interested in a copy of that. Would you like me to ask?
Not sure if anyone can help me regarding a radio show called Saturday Swings, broadcast on December 9 1967. Trying to find a copy which includes a performance by a Sandra Brown. Sorry, should have been December 9, 1964
Secondly. I realize that this forum is for british broadcast. Does anyone know if there is a similar site for Danish radio. Thanks, Tony
The programme did not air on Saturday 9th December 1967, because afternoon broadcasting on that date was allocated to Radio 1 (in those far off days, the two stations shared a single BBC broadcast frequency on a time-share basis) -
December 9th was not a Saturday in 1964. It was a Wednesday.
Probably what you want is this -
