New to this part of forum so unaware whats been already discussed.
I recall initially listening to John peels late show around late 1973, early 1974. Amongst the items I recall were him playing Hatfield and the North 'shaving is boring' and 'the rotters club', Robert wyatt 'little red riding hood hit the road pt 1', Ivor Cutler, and the whole of tangerine Dreams 'Rubicon'.
I recall also him previewing Lou Reeds 'metal machine music', then turning on after a lapse with some surprise to hear 'the vibrators' and 'the saints' (April 1977 ?) He still played Roy Harper despite the punk swing.
Does anyone know if and what survives around the dates and can anyone identify dates of mentioned items ?

The JOHN PEEL margrave of the marshes book page 402 mentions : 'Tangerine dream in Aldershot the week after the pub bombings'; can't identify any broadcast dates though.
Of course his favourite song, The Undertones 'Teenage Kicks', was from 1978. My memories from his 10pm show on Radio 1 around 1979 are things like 'Saturday night beneath the plastic palm trees', 'Peppermint Lump' and The Squeeze 'Up The Junction'.
