Just wondering what was missing from this radio series.
I don't have the following:
2-7 27.11.59 Working Their Passage 2-8 4.12.59 Johnson Finds Treasure 2-12 1.1.60 The Route March 2-14 15.1.60 Working Their Passage 2-20 26.2.60 Working Their Passage 3-20 15.3.61 In The Last Of The Current Series 4-3 29.9.61 Working Their Passage 4-18 12.1.62 Working Their Passage 4-22 9.2.62 Long Jonathan Pertwee SP1 25.12.62 Christmas Special For Antarctica SP2 25.12.65 Christmas Special 11-6 1.2.70 Taking The Initiative (The Fleet Initiative Test) 12-11 25.7.71 The Forbodian Attaché
Are they all missing?
Also, I'm missing episode 9 of the spin-off TV Lark - is this lost?
Finally, any info on holdings of the Big Business and Embassy Lark spin-offs?
Regards
Stuart

is working their passage the same its down 5 times? They're different episodes, but as the early episodes had no names, the names used were either imposed by consent or taken from the end credits where unfortunately 'Working their passage' was a common phrase. Stuart

Hi Stuart Just wondering what was missing from this radio series. The BBC only hold a limited run of the episode, but most exist as off-air recordings. "Gunboat to Goomba": This is still missing, but the script is included in the BBC Audiobooks CD release "The Navy Lark Series Two Volume 1". A restored copy of this is on "The Navy Lark Series Two Volume 1" There is an incomplete copy of this in existence, but we took the decision not to include it on the CD release. The script is included in "The Navy Lark Series Two Volume 1" "The Radar Talk-Down System": This is still missing, but the script is included in the BBC Audiobooks CD release "The Navy Lark Series Two Volume 1". "Return to Potarneyland": This is still missing, but the script is included in the BBC Audiobooks CD release "The Navy Lark Series Two Volume 2". No known copies of this show. No known copies of this show. No known copies of this show. There are off air recordings of this show. Try "The Navy Lark Appreciation Society" run by Fred Vintner. No known copies of this show. No known copies of this show. There are off air recordings of this show. Again, try "The Navy Lark Appreciation Society". No such episode. Some guides erroneously list one or two other episodes at this point, but both were repeats which followed on from these new Season 12 shows. On 25.7.71, Captain Povey As Governor Of Forbodia/The Forbodian Attache (11/4) was repeated, followed by Sir Willoughby's Party (11/5) on 1.8.71. Hope that helps! All the best Andrew

Out of interest Andrew, do you happen to know the archival status of the spin-off series, The TV Lark.
I have 1-8 and 10 of the (sole) series as off-air recordings - does 9 still exist? And are there any plans to release TV Lark (and indeed the Big Business and Embassy Larks) officially?
Regards
Stuart

I don't know what is held on any of these shows at present; I've really just done an awful lot of work on "The Navy Lark" thus far. I can't really speak for BBC Audiobooks and don't know their plans, but I would imagine that the release of these lesser known series will depend on strong sales of "The Navy Lark". All the best Andrew

Would any of this be available in the US of A? I've always been interested in hearing some of this, since Pertwee's my favorite Doctor. Is there anywhere on the net where I might hear some excerpts? What the odds of this being podcast in the near future?

BBC7 plays episodes of The Navy Lark each Thursday, and they're available for listening again on the web for a week afterwards. If you've got Real Player, you can listen to last week's episode by clicking on this very link!

The SERIES 3 boxset - containing 19 episodes , will be released on the 3rd July.
An additional bonus feature is "Radio Lives", a Radio 4 programme focussing on the career of Jon Pertwee .

I see BBC 7 are now airing "The Embassy Lark" same writer, (Laurie Wyman), same sort of plots but a different cast in the slot they had The Navy Lark.

The Embassy Lark isn't as good as either TNL or the TV Lark, but still worth a listen.
