On the subject of BBC6 Music's John Peel programmes, I was surprised to find that his first Top Gear from October 1967, as Pete Drummond's co-presenter was on the BBC6 site as I didn't know it was in the archives. However, only about 50 minutes of the programme are included, whereas I thought that the original broadcast was much longer. As such, does anyone know if the whole programme survives, or is that all there is? In any case, the programme is well worth a listen, while it is still accessible, which may only be for 1 week: www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/inthearchive/johnpeel.shtml

Well, the BBC site quoted the playlist as "typically eclectic, opening with Martha & the Vandellas, and embracing The Hollies, The Bee Gees, The Velvet Underground and session tracks from Pink Floyd along the way." However, from that list only Velvet Underground and session tracks from Pink Floyd are included in the portion featured.
Without listening to the broadcast again, I also seem to remember Traffic, Captain Beefheart and Tim Rose (Morning Dew) being played at some stage. I would suggest you have a listen yourself before the programme gets taken off the site (usually happens after 1 week).

I always thought it was just Peel, was John Walters the producer for all of them or did he join later?
