Some years ago I found, lurking in an antique shop, a copy of Romany's biography written posthumously (I think just pre-war) by his wife. It states that even in 1938-ish, the BBC had kept just a single recording of Out With Romany.
Is it still the case that only one recording survives?

I'm afraid I can't help with the survival info, but if anyone's interested in Romany and is in the North West of England who doesn't know this already, his caravan is preserved just outside the library in Wilmslow, Cheshire. It's open for a few days every year for people to go and look round - the local press in the area must be one of the few places where his name still crops up.
