Emma exists from TOTP 14/03/74, not in the BBC archives but it's one of those lost 1974 clips in circulation.

There's also an appearance on Ed And Zed from 1970 existing in colour. The early line-up. Possibly their earliest surviving, unless anyone here knows different...

Always thought the earliest Hot Chocolate footage was from 1972. I do wonder if they made a promo clip for their sole Apple single since Apple acts did get to make such clips, but otherwise Ed and Zed is very likely the earliest existing footage.

I wondered myself if they made any promos for early singles like Brother Louie, which seem not to be represented in the archives. Hopefully they made a few European TV appearances at that time that exist. The Ed And Zed appearance is a lucky survivor (two numbers); quite similar to a TOTP of the time apart from the presence in the foreground of children trying to dance like young adults!

I think you are right, There is a colour promo for "I believe in love" knocking about. Im almost certain its on one of those ( Dutch ?? ) made Seventies compilation DVDs that were made. And Im certain I have it somewhere. You can get some storming promos on this type of DVD / Video. Rare ones. I have a great version of "In the Summertime" - Mungo Jerry on one. Playing / miming in a park with London traffic going past in the background. Also Love Affair playing Everlasting Love on the steps of a Large house. Yes, you can get a lot of obscure gap fillers on these discs but you can also get some superb stuff as well.

There are 3 colour promos from 1971 that were part of the music unlimited series, released on both volumes 1 and 2 of the 'Sensational Sounds Of The 70's' DVDs. You Could Have Been A Lady I Believe In Love Mary Anne
I too would love to find any footage of 'Brother Louie' and 'Rumours'.
