Hi. does anyone know as to the show and date of the Showaddywaddy performance screened on TOTP2 last night? The BBC only have "Hey Mr Christmas" as surviving once and that was briefly shown on "Platforms At Christmas" a few years back. Is it a 1974 episode of TOTP which has resurfaced? It made a change to see some different artists and clips on what I thought was going to be another predictable show! Regards, Chris

I saw this show but missed the beginning but will record it tonight. For those reading this; the edition is above average for these Christmas compilations and has used imagination.
Following the usual Slade I noted the 'Happy Xmas War is Over' TOTP film; a John Prine cut from Whistle Test; the Kinks live 1977 and Lindisfarne doing a Xmas song live.
Strongly recommended!

Thanks, Gary! In that case, does anyone know the original source of "Hey Mister Christmas" used in the BBC programme, "Platforms At Christmas", screened around 6 or 7 years ago? It was assumed this was Stocking Full Of Stars, but it seems now the BBC have one more performance of this song than they list. Regards, Chris POP PROMO. I wouldn´t mind seeing that Kinks Rainbow concert in full one day. Along with their 1972 In Concert as well...I know that one was shown on BBC4 but it was edited! Candidates for DVD, i´d have thought!

There were two Rainbow concerts, 1972 and 1977. Both exist (and the In Concert, which I think was 1973). The earlier two would be the most interesting but all three are worth releasing.

The Kinks 1977 Christmas concert was also broadcast in stereo on radio. There's a CD bootleg of the concert doing the rounds taken from a US radio CD. Another TV concert that could be upgraded from mono to stereo!
