Can't recall whether this particular show has been mentioned much on the board? Cockney Rebel definitely did a couple of numbers from October 1974 and most of the series does exist in the archives.Any one out there got any of the programmes? I'm sure quite a few top bands around this period made an appearance at some stage.

There appear to be sporadic episodes of Kid Jensen's 45 still in the archive, Some bands/artists included (that still exist in the archive) Showaddywaddy, Mud, Bay City Rollers, Lulu.... The earliest one seems to be Episode 14 from 26/09/1974 featuring: LIMMIE AND FAMILY COOKIN JAKI WHITREN MEDICINE HEAD SHOWADDYWADDY I've never seen any clips from 'Kid Jensen's 45' though.
Here's another little gem that i stumbled across. 26/12/1973 SEZ LES (THAT'S CHRISTMAS) inc Slade singing "Merry Xmas Everyone"; David Essex singing "Lamplight"; Kessler Twins singing "Every Streets A Boulevard" ; Lynsey De Paul singing "Won't Somebody Dance With Me" ; Clive Dunn singing "Whatever Tomorrow May Bring" .

Can't answer that query but from what I recall Jaki Whitren was a mixed race singer songwriter who in my memory resembled Linda Lewis. She appeared in session on OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST and the material exists as a VT recording. Now Linda Lewis - there are two WHISTLE TEST early sessions; but I've never seen a clip of my favourite song - the hit 'ROCK A DOODLE DOO'. I recall the (now wiped) TOTP appearance. Does anyone know if a performance of that song on anything exists ? I've never seen one.

I have one episode of 45 which seems to be a typical itv teatime show in most senses featuring the usual troupe of relative unknowns desperate for any tv exposure, this one includes a group called wild honey which features a guy that is a dead ringer for gary holton of heavy metal kids/auf pet fame.
What sets this show apart though is the last 10 minutes, this features a live set from the sweet featuring a great performance of the sixteens & a stunning accoustic set featuring one of their b sides (cant remember which) & an excellent lady starlight with Andy Scott on vocals. If there are any more out there it would be interesting to know if this was the shows usual approach or just a one off.

I believe it was "45" that featured Strawb's playing the "Hero and Heroine" song, which was a single at that time (spring 1974). I have a vague recollection of it being on around teatime, and the band were playing in the open in Manchester, dressed in the white suits used on the album cover...anyone else remember this?...and please, if this exists on tape, let me know

The other track was 'You're Not Wrong For Loving Me' if I remember rightly. Chris.
