Good Idea Jonathan Regarding the additional clips. I understand that those clips shown on the christmas editions were actually from earlier in the year (where i've listed them). If they are different then i'll list them in the christmas editions aswell, perhaps someone knows on this forum? Sorry, you're probably right, I wasn't paying enough attention. However, I can't see "Get It On" listed and I doubt that the Pans "My Sweet Lord" is a repeat from January. Some more additions in the German archives:- Bobbie Gentry Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head 12th Feb 1970 Disco'71 Shirley Bassey Something 16th Jul 1970 Performance Disco'71 The Hollies - Hey Willy 13th May 1971 Performance Disco'71 Petula Clark - The Song of My Life 21st Jan 1971 Performance Disco'71 Neil Diamond - Cracklin' Rosie 21st han 1971 Performance Disco'71 Cliff Richard - Sunny Honey Girl 4th Feb 1971 Performance Disco'71 Lynn Anderson - Rose Garden 11th Mar 1971 Performance Disco'71 Alan Price/Georgie Fame - Rosetta 1st April 1971 Performance Disco'71 Middle of the Road - Soley Soley 23rd Dec 1971 Performance Disco'72 Some of these are "cleaner" than others in terms of the number of cutaways to the German studio during the VT insert. The reel for 25/12/67 features 3 takes of "Baby, Now that I've found You". I can't remember what the studio clock reads but I assumed it was a new performance for the Xmas day show and not a repeat.

Middle of the Road - Soley Soley 23rd Dec 1971
I think that this performance was actually from the 2/12/71 edition, the same as "....Amarillo". I think the 23/12/71 date was just when the Germans got the inserts.
Also while on the subject of ZDF (TOTP) performances, i think it should be mentioned that T.Rex "Hot Love" with Pan's People dancing in front of the band originates from the 11/3/71 edition, different from the BBC held 25/3/71 performance, and "Get It On" from 8/7/71 survives in the same way. I think it's worth noting the ZDF clips as around 95% of the performance is from the TOTP studio. I think the early 1971 to mid 1972 have a lot more German 'interference' that the late 1972/early 1973 performances that survive that way.
stop press.... another one is the Cilla Black 11/11/71 performance of "Something Tells Me". There may be more , but thats all i can think of offhand up until the end of 1971.

Yes, the 23/12/71 date for those inserts seems to be when they were dubbed for German TV rather than it being a UK transmission date or anything. I have a fairly complete list of the ZDF TOTP material here so I will try and dig it out and post it up, in case anyone's interested that isn't familiar with what's surviving on those Disco shows (or can add any more clips to it).

I've updated the list with the additions so far. I've also managed to get up to 1974 today, so now, any addtions/corrections to these years would be welcomed aswell. I'm now going to rest my fingers

Great work, Paul!
One addition so far for 1974 :
Robert Wyatt - "I'm A Believer" (20/9/74)
Also, the whole of 15/8/74 is now known to exist.

"I'm A Believer" does actually exist at the BBC as it's been shown on TOTP2.
Nick Mason was on drums making this the last time that a member of Pink Floyd set foot in the TOTP studio.

Firstly, top marks to Paul Watkins for this excellent accompanyment to the TOTP database. You asked if there is anything missed and as far as i've looked, up to the end of 1972, the only performances that i know to exist extra to what is on your Database paul are..
Chicory Tip "Son Of My Father" - 17/2/72 This performance has been used on 'Disco 72' and i also think it is the one used on the 28/12/72 TOTP edition, as the group actually split up for 3 months from Oct '72 to Jan '73 whilst changes of personnel & image took place.
Rod Stewart "You Wear It Well" 17/8/72 Doesn't appear as existing anywhere on the TOTP database, but most of us know the BBC hold this, as we have all seen this performance a few times.

Having looked through 1973 & 1974 Paul, the only extra's i can think of known to exist on film are
4/10/73 (500TH EDITION) 5:15 - The Who (Not good quality though)
A few performances exist in full in January/February 1974
Mud - "Tiger Feet" (Red suits with DLT on stage with them) possibly 31/1/74
Sweet - "Teenage Rampage" both 10/1/74 and 24/1/74, the latter with Jimmy Saville intro & outro
Various others exist from 31/1/74 like Ronnie Lane's "How Come?"
Suzi Quatro's "Devil Gate Drive" that is seen on the 27/12/74 TOTP edition originates from 14/2/74 (check out the TOTP backdrops). An Alvin Stardust performance of "Jealous Mind" also originates from around this time as well.
March 1974 has 2 versions of Queens "Seven Seas Of Rhye", The Hollies "The Air That I Breathe", Hot Chocolate's "Emma" and Paper Lace's "Billy Don't Be A Hero"
Pan's People dancing to "The Love I Lost" & "Love's Theme" also survive from this early 1974 period.
I think some odd performances may survive from 6/6/74 and 13/9/74 as well.
Hope this helps.
Ps... most of these can be seen on Y** t*** ;D

And also you might like to consider these as existing www.privatevideolibrary.co.uk/libcat.htmlTogether with a Slade Skweeze Me Pleeze Me (Date Unknown June 73) Slade How Does It Feel 6/2/75 Also a Slade Take Me Bak 'Ome Xmas 72 is out there as well Also the TOTP Promo Films also mentioned somewhere on this site. What gets me and loads of others WHY this kinda footage is not being used on TOTP2 instead of the same footage seen time & time again. Keep up the good work.

the 1970 Blodwyn pig clip was shown on never mind the buzzcocks at the weekend, whether this means anything concerning totp2 or not I don't know, unless it was shown on saturday, I didn't watch it this week.

I think Paul should only add onto his database what has actually been seen by most of us. I would love say "Junior's Farm" from Wings survives from the 21/11/74 TOTP edition, as i'm sure it does, but can anybody here actually confirm that they have seen the full performance?
Stop press.... another 1974 survivor
"Burn Baby Burn" - Hudson-Ford from the 14/2/74 edition.
