Sorry if this has been asked before, but i haven't spotted it on my trawls through previous threads. How many editions of Dusty's BBC show have survived?I know the ones with Tom Jones&Scott Walker exist, aswell as the one with Senor Wences that was returned in the late 90s.I'm not sure if there's much else.I believe the ones they showed in the mid 90s were compilations, although unfortunately i missed most of them.

According to Kal, there were 2 series (each of 6 editions) of Dusty from 1966-67, only the first two of which seem to be totally missing - a very high survival rate for a show of this time. Plus there were 7 editions of Decidedly Dusty (1969). None of the latter seem to exist though. The South Bank doc was obviously grouping the two series together as one entity, hence the dates.

Thanks for that. That's an incredible survival rate for that time, apart from that last series. It seems to happen with quite a few series, the survival rate for the earlier shows being much better than for the later ones.Out Of The Unknown and Not Only But Also being two other examples of this.

I always found that to be a curious thing too, with earlier b/w stuff existing in larger numbers and later colour series having big holes. It seems to happen across the board though and obviously down to the fact that b/w stuff was more commonly telerecorded / circulated, whereas colour tape wasn't initially that universal. It makes the archives seem at a glance even more haphazard than they are though (if that's possible).

Does anyone know what happened to the recording of Jimi Hendrix's appearance on "It Must Be Dusty" (5.6.68) ? In a documentary around 10 years ago a very short clip was shown of silent off-screen home movie footage. (An audio recording exists of Jimi's performance plus the duet he sang with Dusty).
I was told that the videotape(or film?) had existed at some time but was stolen from the archives, but I dunno if there's any truth in this.

The Jimmy Hendrix home movie footage referred to in this thread (I think ) comes from her ATV show, and features the 2 of them performing Mockingbird . I'd really like to see some of this - I've been lucky enough to see either extracts or complete shows ,courtesy of the NFT , when they have either staged their "Dusty Day's " in the past, or about 2 years ago, they did an evening dedicated to 60's singers , which featured 1 of the 2 complete Sandie Shaw Supplement's ". Dusty was represented by an edition feat Jose Feliciano - What I would like to know is what exists of her ATV colour shows ? I've seen clips of her performing with both Tom Jones & Englebert Humperdinck , but are these both extracts , or does the complete run exist ?.
Might be worth posting this same question on the White Lady of Soul " forum which is a site dedicated to Dusty Springfield life & music, of which I am also a member .
Though I do agree with other posters, that it's great that so much of her b&w performances exist , and 1 thing comes across , in shows I've been lucky enough to see.
When she's performing Motown/Soul, she was 1 Funky Chick ! & Deserves her title of "White Lady of Soul "
