40. GARY OSBORNE First and only TOTP studio appearance : "Three Day Nation", 27/8/70 London-born lyricist; son of the bandleader Tony Osborne. Gary has written lyrics for many artists including Elton John ("Part Time Love", "Blue Eyes" etc), Kiki Dee ("Amoureuse") and Justin Hayward ("Forever Autumn").

If you happen to have £70 to spare, it's on the mammoth War Of The Worlds box set, along with the original instrumental version, which was composed for a late 60s advert for Lego!
It's different from Justin H's better known recording, but is rather lovely nonetheless.
Gary also wrote one of the marvellous 60s pop pastiches sung by Anna Carteret in the Saint episode 'Portrait Of Brenda' - wish they'd been released as a single!
