Indeed, many thanks for p[osting this great clip from a 1968 edition of Top Of The Pops. I saw this clip as well posted a few days ago, and is the posters only clip as yet, hoping others are soon to be on the way, as have never seen this performance before. Deffinitely has the look of a early open reel domestic video recording, as the recording looks slightly out of sync, can also see the visual bars floting up and down the screen from time to time. Is nice the BBC 1 globe and Top Of The Pops eblmem appeared at the start, great to see, many thanks for posting.
Cheers, Lance.

This performance was filmed with a super 8 movie camera in front of the TV but the sound was added only recently. not a great chance of getting hold of any more footage from this episode of totp but it does show what could be out there, i think super 8 films from the tv are a more likely source of missing tv than early video as super 8 cameras were much more common

Always loved that song, along with the Nirvana original, makes me think there is a lot more like this out there. by the way are we sure it was S8 and not Std8 or even single8, I ask because S8 has a slightly larger frame size than Std8 and is therefore able to catch a slightly higher def picture, also does anyone have the sound to this ep as an off air audio or was it from the record?

The sound was dubbed from the record. Maybe somebody out there may have an off-air recording of the show or parts of it but whoever filmed this clip didn't seem to have sound recording set up. It's very likely the vocals were "live" on the transmission but a dub of the record is good enough to allow us to see a rare clip like this.
