SPANKY & OUR GANG First and only TOTP studio appearance : "Like To Get To Know You", 18/4/68 Folk-pop group formed in Chicago by Elaine 'Spanky' McFarlane, Malcolm Hale, Kenny Hodges, Lefty Baker, Nigel Pickering and John Seiter. Spanky became the lead singer of the Mamas & Papas in the early '80s. Scored five US Top 30 hits in 1967/68.

I love all the minor pop stars.
It's dead easy to love the Beatles etc but there were so many acts that deserved to make it and did not.
I think the female solo artists suffered the worst. Each major label had one each and they didn't care about the rest.
