Looking at the new BBC online archive it seems one performance of 'Mr.Soft' DOES exist. But it's listed on Day 4 of The Osmonds TOTP 15/08/74. Does anyone remember the week of Osmonds BBC shows and can anyone verify that other artists were featured other than the Osmonds?

Been checking the Pop Quiz archives too and have found they did indeed air a clip of Stealers Wheel 'Stuck In The Middle' from TOTP 30/05/73 on the 2 June 1984 edition of Pop Quiz. So where did this come from?

So where did this come from? Good question! I recall seeing such a clip on Pop Quiz. I wonder what the source was (i.e. was it a TOTP clip or from elsewhere)?

Yes, i remember seeing said clip on Pop Quiz back in 1984 and remember it looking very much like a TOTP clip. If i remember rightly the back of the set was a kind of lime green colour with the band performing in front. If it wasn't a TOTP clip, where else might it have come from? Another TOTP missing performance that i swear i saw back in the eighties was America with "Horse With No Name". I remember that too looking very much like a TOTP performance and knowing what the January 1972 TOTP background set looks like, i'm positive it's from there. As nothing, not even an insert of TOTP exists between March & September 1973, it's hard to know for sure for comparisons for the Stealers Wheel track.

Wonder if Andrew Martin can help here? From memory, the Stealers Wheel clip I recall looking like a TOTP appearance and seem to think Gerry Rafferty was positioned on a stool in the foreground? Is that the clip or was there another used elsewhere?

As I said, it clearly states that the Stealers Wheel clip was sourced from that edition of Top Of The Pops. So I'd assume it is somewhere in the archives, maybe just as an isolated performance? Great if the whole show is lurking somewhere though?

In that case, the question is does the performance still exist in isolation (complete) or just as an incomplete clip in Pop Quiz? What happened to the whole TOTP edition after the Stealers Wheel clip was lifted from it is what I want to know though...
