Hiya, Have the mid-1980s BBC Micro animations which featured between the programmes of CBBC (or its predecessors) ever been archived anywhere? I remember a variety of monsters (as monstery as a BBC / B could make a monster look), a tin of sardines and a mock-up of the Blue Peter Garden featuring - any others? The best thing about the animations was, of course, that they were not Philip Schofield (though he rumbled into town shortly afterwards)... For some reason, these seem to be like the proverbial hen's teeth now. I've only ever seen two of them on the web.
Strange, really... those animations were used at a time when VCR ownership had become widespread, yet if anyone's got a whole set they're keeping very quiet about it. There's more children's continuity from the mid-70s available on the web than there is from the mid-80s!

Well... no! How are you going to recreate those animations without video recordings to use as a reference for both graphics and sound?
You'd need to be a pretty nifty BBC Micro programmer, too - as I understand it, the original programs were written in a mixture of BASIC and machine code.
Be nice to think, though, that the programs to generate those animations still exist on a disc somewhere.
