Old Grey Whistle Test 14/3/72 "Night of the Fourth of May" Old Grey Whistle Test 30/11/76 "Year of the Cat" Breakfast Time 22/11/88 (interview? not clear...) Scene Today 8/5/91 "On the Border"/"Flying Sorcery"
Oddly, can't find a record of a "Rock Goes to College" - even if it had been wiped (unlikely) there would be a record of it on Infax... was he a support act by any chance (even then I'm surprised I can't find a reference).

How odd, no sign of it - RGTC only started in 1978, and all transmissions are logged from mid-76 regardless of archive status. It's not possibly an ITV show with a similar remit you're thinking of? Otherwise I can't understand what's happened to it! No sign in Kaleidoscope guide either...

no, no way, as the Transcription Service took their mobile truck to the gig & recorded it for one of their (audio) 'In Concert' programmes - I was working there at the time!!

Well, still no sign of it - I suppose it may have been abandoned as a programme for some reason. It is perplexing though... Do you happen to know the date of the recording, the venue or any other details?
Actually it would seem a bit odd (to me - I'm no expert) that he would still be doing the 'Year of the Cat set' in 1978 (when RGTC started) when it came out in 76? I just wonder if this could be some other programme?

The Best of Musikladen Live - Al Stewart (The Beat Club) video it's on Amazon somewhere there's also a German Documentary(film) from 1971 called Love and Music, a recording of the 1970 rock concert held in Rotterdam, but there's all sorts there Bolan, Canned Heat, Pink Floyd and so on. Al stewart web site here www.page27.co.uk/page27/ there's an e-mail addres, so perhaps they have more info.

No sign (as far as I can see) of a "SSIC". I also checked the series "In Concert" and had no luck...

I have just been archiving some VHS tapes to DVD and came across a documentary on Bert Jansch from a couple of years ago possibly the 90's,this contains a clip of Al Stewart in 1965 in B&W on a BBC programme called Meeting Point there are several clips of different artists in the Documentary so I assume this Prog is in the BBC archive.
