After an extensive review of many photos from the Oct 63 and Jan 64 "Sunday Night at the London Palladium" rehearsals/transmissions, I believe the recent eBay photos are from the Oct 63 telecast. The photos of the Beatles wearing their collarless jackets would seem to be promo shots taken on the Palladium stage (perhaps on the day before the Oct 63 telecast). The Jan 64 telecast used a completely different stage design, Starr and Lennon had longer hair, and Harrison had switched from a Gretsch Country Gent to a Tennessean guitar. I'd be interested in any opinions on this! Best regards, John Well I'll be..... You learn something new ever day. Makes sense them buying new suits to wear for the prestigious Palladium show. Although I wonder what happened to the giant, glitter-edged "Beatles" letters backdrop for the night of the broadcast?

The February 1962 color 8mm home movie of the Beatles playing Floral Hall, Liverpool (initially mis-identified as the Casanova Club 2/61) has surfaced on a new DVD entitled "Best of the Beatles". This tells the early Beatles story from Pete Best's perspective and is nicely done. The home movie footage runs about 30 seconds.
Best regards, John
